Revenue Cycle Analyst

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing strong analytic assessments, monthly reporting and operational support on all aspects of revenue cycle operations in a corporate business office. At times, will be called upon to work with internal and external customers, including physician executives, finance and operations at IES to identify issues and drive resolutions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform regular and ongoing analysis of all revenue cycle data/reporting for client management; provide feedback on analysis
  • Work with finance and operations to develop standard client performance analytics, dashboards, drill path, and alerts necessary to proactively identify issues with client performance
  • Standardize the data sets, process for analyzing, and timing for delivery of key insights to all stakeholders to ensure trends and issues are raised prior to impacting the client’s financial performance
  • Compile and QA data for monthly Site Medical Director reports
  • Maintain and manage process for provider feedback generated from monthly Site Medical Director reporting
  • Perform analysis on monthly reporting as well as partner with coding and billing vendor to develop and implement action plans for resolving aging AR
  • Track monthly reporting for month end metrics; developing action plans for resolving holding AR
  • Communicate with revenue cycle vendor(s) as needed to appropriately target projects impacting inventory
  • Optimize processes for increased productivity, revenue generation opportunities, or cost control initiatives
  • Handle special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Previous experience working in the healthcare field required
  • Proficient understanding of data mining, statistical predictive modeling, and financial modeling practices preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and revenue cycle industry
  • Background in business analytics
  • Proficiency in MS Office with advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, as well as external clients and vendors
  • Prior experience in revenue cycle, patient financial services, and/or health information systems preferred
  • Must be available for occasional travel
  • Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings
