Integrative Emergency Services is seeking a highly skilled executive physician with proven leadership capability for the Emergency Department at JPS in Ft. Worth, TX. The Medical Director’s role will be to oversee the day to day operation of the Academic Emergency Department. Duties to also include quality improvement, patient satisfaction, productivity and active in hospital committees.

The position comprises administrative duties as well as clinical shifts. The Medical Director will have access to leadership meetings within IES and JPS hospital administration.

Requirements: Board Certified and Residency Trained in Emergency Medicine. Minimum of 2+ years experience as Director or Associate Director.

Emergency Department:
  • 54-bed, state-of-the-art ED occupying 38,000 square feet
  • JPS is a level 1 trauma center, stroke center, and tertiary care referral center
  • 115,000 annual patient visits
  • Approximately 20% of patients evaluated in the ED are admitted to the hospital
  • Zero ambulance diversion hours since 2008
  • The ED is fully telemetry equipped
  • Dual high speed CT scanners in the ED, adjacent to trauma and resuscitation areas
  • EM residency program in-house
  • Resuscitation rooms equipped with digital radiography and articulating arm mounted ultrasound
  • STAT lab in the ED for point of care testing of time sensitive biomarkers
  • Separate on-site Urgent Care provides care for another 70,000 low acuity patients per year
  • Clinical Decision Unit/Observation Unit staffed 24 hours/day
  • Scribe service available
  • EPIC EMR used
  • Up to 96 hours of physician coverage daily – 8 & 12 hour shifts
  • Up to 60 hours of APP coverage daily in the ED and Fast Track
  • The hospital currently has 459 beds
  • Fully Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI
  • JCAHO certified Stroke Center of Excellence
  • Psychiatric Evaluation Unit separate from the ED
  • OB Triage Unit separate from the ED
  • Tarrant County’s only level 1 trauma center
  • Healing Wings, AIDS treatment center
  • Countywide network of health care services operated as the JPS Health Network
  • Located in Downtown Fort Worth, approximately 25 miles from DFW Airport
