ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Although most emergency physicians will already have an established routine for managing the ED patient with atrial fibrillation, new updates and guidelines have been published that render many of those practices out of date.
We will discuss an updated approach to managing the ED patient with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (or atrial flutter, for which the recommendations are the same) according to the most recent guidelines.
This new approach is the result of a multidisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders throughout the system that aims to improve quality of care, while reducing utilization of hospital resources and cost.
