IES Critical Procedures Course

Offering two available courses between Dallas and Houston

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Join us for the IES Critical Procedures Course, led by Elizabeth Fagan, MD, FACEP, Director of Education at IES, and Emergency Department Medical Director at BSWH – McKinney. This comprehensive, hands-on course is designed to ensure that IES physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) maintain proficiencies in high-risk/low-frequency critical procedures.

Two identical session times will be offered on different days in Dallas and Houston to allow physicians and APPs to select the most convenient time to attend.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Demonstrate the importance of incorporating a checklist in central line insertion procedures.
  • Perform advanced airway procedures with the use of equipment available in your routine working environment.
  • Justify the value and utilization of ultrasound for peripheral IV access.
  • Perform all aspects of high-risk procedures encountered infrequently.

EDUCATION ATTENDANCE FOR QSP

Participation in this activity qualifies for 4-hours of IES Education Attendance Credit towards the 2021 QSP at applicable BEST locations. Contact your site practice administrator to confirm the status of your site QSP requirements.
