Tucson Medical Center, licensed at more than 600 beds, has been Tucson’s locally governed nonprofit regional hospital since admitting its first patient Nov. 9, 1944. TMC is Southern Arizona’s leading provider for emergency care and pediatric care (including Tucson’s first Pediatric Emergency Department), with intensive care units for adults, children and newborns. Other specialty areas include women's, maternity, cardiac care, orthopedic, neuroscience, hospice, surgical and vascular care.
Anesthesia Services
- Option to focus only on General Anesthesia and/or subspecialty services (CV, Peds, or OB – Anesthesia) with met qualifications.
- Care Team Model: Physicians are ensured 60% doing own cases with 40% CRNA Medical Direction (1:3 ratio)
- 33 total anesthetizing locations; 26 General ORs & 7 ORs dedicated for Cardiac, Peds and OB/Epidurals.
- Cases includes ENT, General, GI, GYN, Neuro, Surgical ONC., Ophth, Oral/Max, Ortho, Plastics, (Peds >9 Y/O healthy) Uro, and Major Vascular.
- Opportunity to expand clinical skills with ASA 4/5 cases: 10-OR orthopedic surgical floor with extensive opportunities for neuraxial anesthesia and all peripheral nerve blocks.
- FTE is 42 weeks/year: 40-hrs/week. (Mon-Fri) (8, 10, or 12-hr. day shifts); option to expand base salary with addition and optional commitments.
- W2 Physicians are extended guaranteed pay for the entire shift scheduled, despite that OR time may end earlier.
- Total call duties for FTE: Four (4) 12-hour shifts per month (can be a combination of 7P-7A in-house overnight and/or weekend day or night).
