IES, Integrative Emergency Services, is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Medical Director to lead our established group at Andalusia Health, Andalusia AL.
Andalusia Health is an 88-bed acute care facility that has served the heart of South Alabama since 1966. Andalusia Health is also accredited by the Joint Commission. Andalusia Health offers a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic, emergency, and surgical services. Comprehensive Cancer Care is available on Andalusia Health’s Campus with services provided by 21st Century Oncology offering Radiation Oncology and Sacred Heart Oncology offering Chemotherapy and infusion services.
Medical Director Role:
- Provide on-site management of the clinical and administrative aspects for the emergency department.
- Manage the quality improvement plan including attending regular meetings and review of medical records
- Supervise staff, provide feedback, and assure provision of high-quality care
- Review the provider schedule and ensure adequate staffing
- Actively participate in the recruitment and retention of qualified physicians and advanced practice providers
- Serve as liaison between hospital administration and clinical staff and provide regular feedback to IES leadership
Andalusia Health
Required Qualifications
- Board certified Emergency Medicine
- Board certified in Family or Internal Medicine considered.
- Alabama medical license or eligible to obtain
- DEA
- ACLS
- Minimum of 3-5 years emergency medicine experience
- Medical Director experience required

Andalusia, Alabama is a town with a population of 8,764 and is located in Covington County and offers residents a peaceful and relaxing environment. Full of activities, Andalusia provides its residents with the following spaces for family fun:
- Frank Jackson State Park: This park is located less than 15 miles from Andalusia and is popular with anglers who come from far and wide to fish the 1,000-acre lake for bass, catfish and bream. It also has campsites, picnic areas and a boardwalk which leads to a verdant island in the lake center.
- Three Notch Museum: This museum is located inside the historic train depot and hosts a range of exhibits which tell the story of this charming Alabama town, displaying photos, military artifacts, historic cameras, model railways and cabooses.
- Conecuh National Forest: This forest is located just south of Andalusia, near the Alabama/Florida state line. The forest is beautiful, with emerald trees, winding trails and a pond which is a natural sinkhole lake.
- Visit Chautauqua Vineyard and Winery: This vineyard and winery is located in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, which is about 30 miles south of Andalusia. It is a great place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the beautiful scenery.
- Visit Historic Central Street: This street is located in downtown Andalusia and is home to several historic buildings, including the Covington County Courthouse, which was built in 1916. The courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a beautiful example of Beaux-Arts architecture.
- Visit Boll Weevil Monument: This monument is located in downtown Enterprise, Alabama, which is about 25 miles east of Andalusia. The monument is dedicated to the boll weevil, which destroyed the cotton crops in the area in the early 1900s. The monument is a unique piece of history and is worth a visit.
- Visit David’s Catfish House: This restaurant is located in Andalusia and is famous for its catfish. It is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner and enjoy some delicious southern cuisine.
