In addition to his clinical work at Baylor Scott & White Health’s Garland, McKinney and All Saints facilities, Kevin Marcum currently oversees all APPs throughout IES’s EDs, clinical decision units and urgent care facilities in North/Central Texas. Previously, he served as IES’s system director of clinical observation units and as the system director of APPs and operations for EmCare’s Baylor Scott & White Health division. Following four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, Marcum began his career in emergency medicine as a paramedic with the El Paso Fire Department in 1996. He received a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, earning the title of PA-C. Upon graduation, Marcum worked in the field of neurosurgery before returning to emergency medicine. At IES, he takes an active role in training future physician assistants, nurse practitioners and physicians, acting as a mentor for medical students, residents and APPs, and developing educational programs for APPs.
